The Parish Council:
They set the mission and
goals for the parish. Along with the Finance Committee, the Council is the
coordinating and unifying body of the Parish and is advisory to the Pastor and
Pastoral Staff. Major decisions affecting the parish are brought to the Parish
Council and Finance Committee. The Parish Council meets on the second Wednesday
of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the meeting room of the school. The parish council
has 12 members, each serving a three-year period. It operates by consensus as
it sets the vision, mission, goals and objectives for the parish. Members are
self- nominated and after a discernment process are asked to put their names
into a hat. Selections are made at Mass. The Parish Council has four
commissions which set objectives and oversee specific areas of parish life.
Each Council member is assigned a parish organization or program and asked to
be a liaison to that program or organization. The four commissions are:
Administration/Finance; Education/Christian Formation; Liturgy/Worship; and
Christian Service. Our Parish Council Chairperson is David
Gunti 636-947-9958. |
