St. Robert Adult Day Care
When the school
closed at the St. Robert campus, the Parish Council decided to lease some of
our space to Cardinal Ritter Senior Services for an Adult Day Care Program.
Starting in 2007, St. Roberts Parish and Cardinal Ritter Senior Services
have worked to obtain grant money to begin the project and to open the
facility.
The Adult Day Program provides assistance to families caring
for senior adults who can not be left alone during the day, but do not need 24
hour care. It also serves those who, while they live alone, need supportive
service to maintain their level of independence. The Adult Day Care Program
offers: » Dignified Personal
Care » Protective
Oversight » Physical
Activity » Socialization
» Mental Stimulation
» Physical, Speech and
Occupational Therapy can be provided » Intergenerational Visits
» Pet & Music Therapy
» Licensed Social Worker on
Staff » Podiatry Services
Available » Showers
» Nursing Oversight
» Meals & Snacks
St.
Roberts Adult Day Care Program also has Homemaker Services. This program
provides trained workers to perform personal care and housekeeping duties in
your home. Homemakers assist senior and disabled persons to remain in the
familiar surroundings of their home longer.
Finally, St. Roberts
Adult Day Care Program helps senior adults and their families/caregivers solve
or cope with problems resulting from the aging process. These include lifestyle
adjustments, inter-personal relationships, housing needs and financial
concerns.
The program is licensed by the Missouri Department of Health
& Senior Services and The Council on Accreditation of Services for Families
& Children, Inc. Funding options available include: Medicaid, MEAAA,
Alzheimer Association, Private Pay, Grants and the Parkinsons
Association.

Program. Bereavement The purpose of the Grief
Ministry Team is to offer concern and prayerful support to the families of
Parishioners who die and to Parishioners who experience the death of a loved
one, at the time of the death, and Grief Education and Support during their
bereavement.
We attempt to do this in many ways. One is with
mailings expressing caring and thoughts for personal reflection after the death
of a loved one. In addition, CareNotes in the church lobby are available to
help the bereaved learn from others who have experienced loss before them.
A limited selection of grief books is available for borrowing. Showings
of a 12 minute DVD entitled "Whitewater: The Positive Power of Grief", with the
opportunity for discussion after, can be scheduled by individuals or families.
A videotape entitled "No One Cries the Wrong Way," by Fr. Joe Kempf, is for
those experiencing any kind of loss and is available by calling the rectory.
The Grief Ministry Team coordinates the All Souls Day Remembrance
Ceremony on November 2nd of each year, and "Prayer Service for the Bereaved"
during Lent.
Health Ministry St. Robert Bellarmine Health
Ministry; Screening of blood pressure after each mass on the first weekend of
each month, is a regular activity performed by a group of nurses in our parish.
Programs are organized though-out the year on topics of interest to our
parishioners. Programs are co-sponsored in conjunction with St. Joseph Hospital
in St. Charles,MO.
Ministry to the Sick St. Robert Bellarmine is a
Parish with a Family Perspective. Our Ministry to the Sick reaches
out to those that are homebound or ill by distributing Holy Communion and
anointing the sick.
»
Weekly Communion calls are made by Father Ryan and other Eucharistic Ministers.
If you or a family member are ill and can not make it to church, please contact
the rectory to receive Communion at your home.
» Anointing of the
Sick For Anointing of the Sick or hospital visitation, family
members are asked to call the rectory @636-946-6799. Please remember, hospitals
do not notify the parish of individuals that are hospitalized. Please keep us
informed.
A Communal Anointing of the Sick is scheduled twice a
year; once during Lent and once at Advent after every mass. Please check the
bulletin for the dates.
If you are a member of the parish and are
interested in becoming a Eucharistic Minister, please contact Deacon Phil King
@ 636-928-6550. Ministry to the Sick involves training. You must be at least 18
years old and a practicing Catholic. Eucharistic Ministers take Communion to
the sick in their homes. Others help with nursing homes within the parish
boundaries.
